In its prime, the lake was surrounded by lush greenery, vibrant birdlife, and a wide variety of flora and fauna. It was especially popular during the monsoon season, when the surrounding hills turned green and the lake brimmed with rainwater. However, over the past two decades, the lake suffered due to environmental degradation, declining water levels, and unchecked construction in the area.
